To support advocacy efforts with policymakers and youth justice programs of the value of one-on-one mentoring services for youth up to age 18 involved in the justice system. Staff serve on local, state and national committees where they promote mentoring as a successful tool in diverting youth from more punitive consequences for delinquent behavior. The goals of this project are to develop relationships for youth with caring adults and to reduce the youths’ risks of recidivism, truancy and school infractions that could result in suspension or expulsion.
