This funding will support CSG Justice Center’s Economic Mobility Project, a project designed to build support for continued justice reforms in CT, focusing on removal of barriers to employment for those with criminal records. CSG Justice Center strives to develop research-driven strategies and tools to help governments increase public safety and strengthen communities. Through their Economic Mobility Project, CSG will work to educate policymakers, employers, advocates, and the public about the thousands of barriers to job training, employment, and occupational licenses faced by people with criminal records. This work will include: collecting data, engaging the business community, and speaking with political directors and legislators from both parties. CSG will also establish a website dedicated to raising awareness of the barriers faced by those with criminal records in CT.
