The GroundTruth Project (GTP) is an award-winning non-profit media which develops fellowships aimed at talented, early-career journalists of varying mediums. Fellowships vary in structure and length as GTP pilots innovative approaches to cultivating talent, but are all united by a focus on ‘on the ground’ storytelling.
GTP is launching a new public service journalism initiative, Report for America (RFA), to address the urgent need for the development of young journalists in the U.S. Funding from The Tow Foundation will support 4 year-long reporting fellowships for emerging journalists in NY and CT newsrooms as part of the RFA initiative. The reporters will be expected to combine daily reporting assignments for their host news organization with a dedicated justice beat. Work produced during the fellowship will be published as a special report on GTP’s website and through editorial partnerships with major news outlets.
