Grantee Partners in Medicine named to HRC’s Healthcare Equality Index

Sep 23, 2020

The Human Rights Campaign LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Index is the national LGBTQ benchmarking tool that evaluates healthcare facilities’ policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of LGBTQ patients, visitors and employees.

This year’s list of leaders in the field included grantee partners Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Hospital for Special Surgery and Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

In a country where 70% of transgender and gender non-conforming respondents and 56% of lesbian, gay or bisexual respondents have experienced some form of discrimination from healthcare providers, it is great to see the list of queer-affirming facilities grow.
