Statement on the U.S. Capitol Attack

Jan 8, 2021

Democracies are forged and sustained on the peaceful transition of power. The Tow Foundation condemns the attack on our nation’s Capitol this week as an act of terror, designed to undermine the very bedrock of our democratic process. The stark difference between the treatment of members of this extremist mob and the protestors involved in the Movement for Black Lives demonstrates the willful and ongoing oppression of people of color in this country. The Tow Foundation stands behind the work of our grantee partners in their efforts to create a more safe, just and equitable society for all.
