Continuing the Legacy of Youth Justice Reform

2020 - 2021

This grant provides support for The Sentencing Project’s of the Campaign for Youth Justice (CFYJ), a longtime grantee partner of the Foundation. The Sentencing Project (TSP) is a highly respected justice reform organization that is a go-to resource for advocates, policymakers and the media on many issues, including the spread of COVID-19 in youth facilities. Building on CFYJ’s 15 years of impactful youth justice work, The Sentencing Project (TSP) will support Raise the Age (RTA) campaigns in Georgia, Texas, Wisconsin and Missouri. Locally, TSP will assist New York advocates working to extend “youthful offender” status from to age 24 and Connecticut advocates seeking to remove children under the age of 18 from the Manson Youth Correctional Institution in Cheshire.
