One Nation/One Project is an unprecedented public-private partnership among artists around the county, the National League of Cities and community health centers. One Nation/One Project will invite 18 cities and towns to work for 18 months on a robust collaborative arts project to create original works that will premiere simultaneously in July 2023, all responding to the same prompt: There’s No Place Like Home. This grant supports the visionary leadership of Lear deBessonet, co-artistic director of One Nation/One Project. Lear is, in equal parts, both director and community organizer. She believes that making art does not just reflect the world as it is but offers ideas of what the world could be.
