The Center for Justice (CfJ) is an interdisciplinary center launched in 2014 and housed at Columbia’s School of Social Work. CfJ works in partnership with schools, departments, centers and institutes across Columbia, other universities, community organizations, advocates and those directly affected by the criminal justice system. It is committed to ending mass incarceration and criminalization and to advancing alternative approaches to justice and safety through education, research and policy change. This grant provides general operating support for CfJ in its mission to be a leading voice in the national and global conversation about developing effective criminal justice policy and reducing the nation’s reliance on incarceration.
