Motivated by a lack of support in CT for social movements designed and led by directly impacted community members, 10 foundations, including The Tow Foundation, came together in 2017 to formally launch Supporting Organizing Work-Connecticut (SOW-CT). SOW-CT now serves as a vehicle through which local organizers and 19 active foundations can come together to learn, pool resources and support organizing work on a wide range of issues, from health and housing to criminal justice and immigration. This grant provides general operating support for SOW-CT in its goal to build capacity of community members to organize powerful campaigns for policy reforms.
