Youth Justice Reporting in Upstate NY

2020 - 2023

Fostering Media Connections (FMC) uses the power of media and journalism to drive social changes benefitting children, youth and families in America. With this funding, FMC will strengthen and grow its youth justice reporting by hiring of a full-time journalist in upstate NY. This reporter will follow the reform, implementation and impact of Raise the Age laws with respect to arrested, detained and incarcerated youth. They will also monitor police reforms and the state’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
